If your guitar buzzes when not plugged in… Beware of the wasps !

A Melbourne man brought a guitar to Living Music that had been left in a shed for years and was making a buzzing sound when played. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the source of the buzzing was an army of wasps that had made a nest inside the guitar. The guitar’s owner had inherited it from his brother, and wanted to fix it up.

When asked if finding a wasp nest in a guitar was the strangest thing he had encountered, James Millane from Living Music mentioned a previous incident where maggots had infested a customer’s classical guitar due to being fed wheaties by the customer’s children and left inside for days.
