Maybe you don’t need it after all. There’s finding treasure at a yard sale, and then there’s… this thing. You know, the kind of discovery that makes you question reality. Imagine the cosmic forces that put you in front of an old Teisco modded body that looks like it’s straight out of Valhalla.

So here we have the “Wasp” guitar bass, or Viking artifact, depending on your imagination—picked up by some brave soul in Burbank, CA for the princely sum of 10 bucks.

Is it a guitar? A bass? Or a viking shield from Valhalla? Source

Let’s be real, this thing looks like it survived a Viking raid, got lost in the battle of Ragnarok, and was later modded by someone who had a very specific idea of what a WASP tribute should look like.

And honestly, I can’t tell if it’s more of an ode to hair metal or a relic from a time when guitars were used for headbanging and actual head-bashing.

What Exactly is Going on Here?

Now, let’s address the elephant in the room. This Teisco body has seen some things. The carved horns, the scars of battle, the patchy modding that makes you wonder what kind of axe-wielding metalhead came up with this creation. It’s part bass, part guitar, part Viking relic, and all… something.

We’re not entirely sure what that something is, but we’re here for it.

You can almost picture a lone Viking warrior picking this up at a yard sale thousands of years from now, strumming it to the tune of ancient battle hymns before deciding that this was probably meant for something a little more rock ‘n’ roll. Maybe.

Viking-Approved Craftsmanship?

Is it just me, or does the body shape scream “medieval weaponry”? Those jagged edges aren’t just for aesthetics, they’re a defensive tool! Let’s say you’re playing at a dive bar and things start to get a little rowdy—well, just swing this thing around and you’ve got yourself an impromptu battle axe or even a shield.

And that finish… wow. You could argue it’s rustic, but let’s be real—it looks like someone dug it up from the earth after centuries of burial, slapped some guitar hardware on it, and decided, “Yeah, this’ll work.”

A Tribute to WASP… or Thor?

The seller isn’t even sure what to make of it. Is it a tribute to the band WASP? Or maybe it’s just some random coincidence that it ended up resembling a lost Viking artifact.

Personally, I like to think that Thor himself wielded this thing during the great rock ‘n’ roll wars of the 9th century, but hey, that’s just my theory.

The ad makes it clear that while the seller doesn’t really want to part with this piece of history, they’re open to offers. But only for highly symbolic numbers like “999,” “777,” or “666.”

You know, because nothing says “I’m committed to this Viking guitar-bass thing” like using lottery numbers and Satan’s personal zip code.

Should You Buy It?

I mean, if you’re in the market for a guitar (or bass?) that looks like it came from a pillaged Viking settlement—and who isn’t?—then this might just be the treasure you’ve been seeking. After all, it’s only $10… or $999, depending on the seller’s mood.

Plus, you could always use it to defend yourself in battle, or at least in a mosh pit.
