… I certainly hope this is the last one of the series !!

pizzar

Believe it or not, this one-of-a-kind creationt aka the Pizzar electric guitar was designed by Bob Benedetto. Yes, the Benedetto from Benedetto Guitars. Quite a departure from their famous jazz archtop guitars, right ?

The Pizzar was inspired by Benedetto’s friend John Pisano, a fellow guitar player and pizza maker ! The guitar’s body is 3-dimensional sculpted to look like an authentic slice of New York-style pizza, complete with painted seasonings and “real” herbs sprinkled on under the finish.

It has a basswood body, mahogany neck, and two Kent Armstrong pickups. The back, sides, and neck are finished in burgundy, and there are two black strap buttons. The PIZZAR was debuted at a NAMM Show and exhibited at Richard Glick’s “Fine Guitar Consultants” booth. The Pizzar guitar was also featured in various magazines and a forthcoming coffee table book.
